Time present and time past / Are both perhaps present in time future, / And time future contained in time past” – T.S. Eliot
Time, as it were, thickens, takes on flesh, becomes artistically visible; likewise, space becomes charged and responsive to the movements of time, plot, and history. This intersection of axes and fusion of indicators characterizes the artistic chronotope” – Mikhail Bakhtin
Photography is a system of saving memories. It’s a time machine, in a way, to preserve the memory, to preserve time” – Hiroshi Sugimoto
Moons, Castles, Trees | A Part of The Wrong Biennale 2025/2026
Horses dance beneath strawberry moons. They wander castle ruins. They are in turpentine trees.
These dreamlike images, inspired by Nick Cave’s “Cinnamon Horses“, form a springboard into synthetic, imagined realities.
See them not as requirements but as points of departure, inviting reinterpretation, inversion, or abstraction.
What happens when AI dances, strolls, or is discovered?
Moons, Castles, Trees | AI Chronotopes is an official part of The Wrong Biennale 2025/2026.
What Is the Wrong Biennale?
Counting its viewership in the millions, The Wrong just might be the world’s largest art biennale – the digital world’s answer to Venice.”
– The New York Times
The Wrong Biennale, a member of the International Biennial Association, is a global art event that generates and showcases art across virtual, physical, and hybrid platforms on a historic scale.
Since its inception in 2013, it has presented the work of over 10,000 artists through more than 800 curated digital and physical exhibitions worldwide.
Who can take part in this open call?

Artists of all kinds: writers, poets, painters, photographers, calligraphers, illustrators, sculptors, printmakers, generative artists, and graffiti artists are kindly invited.

Exhibition Platform
The exhibition will premiere on November 1st 2025 on ai.chronotopes.net and remain online until at least 2030.
Chronotopes Image Pack / content for free use
For some time, I’ve collected “digital negatives” of photos, images that have turned out differently than expected: glitchy, noisy, uneven, unplanned.
It struck me that other people could use them for their own projects.
The images are free for use in projects that are a part of the biennale: Chronotopes Image Pack (10 images in a 140MB compressed zip file).
You may remix or reference these images to create new works in the spirit of layered meaning and shared authorship.
Remixed versions can be submitted for this or other exhibitions, creating layered artworks that reference or build upon each other.
Can I submit text(s) to the exhibition?
Yes, texts are more than welcome, even encouraged. The only requirement is that they can be submitted in the form of still images, for example, text in JPEG or PNG files, black text on a white background.
AI-generated texts are welcome.
Submissions can also combine texts and images, as long as the texts are contained in image files.
Can I submit photography-based work?
Yes.

The text ‘The Art of Artificiality‘ can be used for inspiration, remixing, prompting and any other creative use imaginable.

Burning Moons, Castles, Trees was burned into the Blockchain
Moons, Castles, Trees is permanently inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain as ordinal #100,165,770 in an archival gesture that creates an immutable digital object, a paratext if you will. Something designed to last longer than the exhibition itself.
